34th U2 concert for me. Fly into Dublin, the vibe is cool. Got to the ground at 16:00 thousands outside and eventually get a place about 5 rows back from the outer circle. Show time, Breathe is a stupendous opener, followed by a further 3 songs from NLOTH! Brave or arrogant? In my opinion genius, an inspired decision. Fervour, ambition, resolve and love flowed through the band; there are no prisoners to be taken tonight. The Auld Triangle brought a 40 + year old man to tears... Ahem...
Moment of the night, well there are many but I must say the achingly haunting MoS just wins, here is a vocalist and a band at the top their game. See you on the 14th August; I am taking my 9 year old daughter to her first rock concert, bought cat A seats much to my wife’s dismay.
Thank you U2, you have been an integral part of my life and I am proud to be a fan of your band!
