My wife treated us (again) to U2 in Dublin.( Slane in 2001 ..incredible!)God bless her. However, we only got our tickets 1/2 hour before the gates opened !!,Event Travel made us sweat, the sods.
Anyhow.. The Radiators blew their chance, they were godawful,Snow Patrol were on form..their vocalist said we were going to be blown away by U2.
Well, he was right. They surfaced onto the stage..pulled back on the throttle and we were gone!
We were just below stage left 8 ft from the walkway and the sound was just fantastic. I feel sorry for the reviewers to the rear of the stadium..but hey,we stood in this spot for 5 hours, before U2 started, and by god was it worthwhile !We are in our forties, and partied like teenagers. Thanks Bono and the Lads.
