We got to Croke Park embarrassingly early and managed to get right in front of the runway on the right hand side. This was my fourth U2 concert - the first being Joshua Tree in Cork in 1987. I was as excited as you can be.
It was pure power. There was one point during “Where the Streets have no name” when I literally couldn’t hear Bono because the crowd was too loud! Otherwise the sound was perfect and Bono’s voice fab.
Edges skills caused shivers up the spine, particularly in “City of Blinding Lights” when the stage show really kicked in. Awesome. Seeing Adam’s smiling face showing how much he enjoyed it, being close enough to virtually help Bono with the Coexist head-band made this very special. It was a real treat and that in truth I am still on a high after it.
And Larry – you are still divine………
