I returned to U2 on Monday, having been at Friday's gig also. This time I was at Premium level at the Canal End. Boy... I thought the sound was bad in the Upper Hogan on Friday, it was much worse on Monday. The sound quality was dreadful. No joke. It was like someone was holding up an old radio to your ears and played it on full volume. In addition, it was clear that the music was out-of-sync with the visuals, which was really annoying - watching larry hit the drums and then a couple of micro-seconds later you'd hear the beat.

Thankfully, during some songs I forgot about the sound quality, but was, however, distracted (to my left) by a number of older people who basically fell asleep out of sheer boredom; some kids (to my right) who kept themselves occupied by jumping up and down on their seats all night; and a drunk in front of me, who was arrested for throwing rubbish and hassling some women (who, in a drunk state, he would have run a mile from).

Bizzarely too, quite a number of people skipped off to the bar for a few beers - such was the lack of real connection between U2 and some of the audience for most of the show.

However, regardless of all that, most of the negtives were outside U2's control - i.e people who had tickets and really didn't deserve them, and crap acoustics in Croke Park - and it was a great gig, fantastic song line-up, great effort from the band, breadth taking visual and even the odd smile from larry - but I think that was only because he read Friday's reviews and the comments about his perceived lack of interest in the proceedings.

Highlights were Dirty Old Town, Where the Streets Have no Name and One !
