I've been a fan for a long time but this was my first live experience of the lads (2nd if you count their brief appearance at Croker 2 yrs back). I don't like the tempo/feel of the last 2 albums but was well up for hearing them anyway, with the hope of a good mix from earlier albums being thrown in. The buzz around the stadium was fantastic but for me, the show failed to ignite until it got darker and the stage lighting kicked in which was no surprise as it coincided with some cracking songs in the set. To echo some of the other reviews, the sound was poor in the upper Cusack as was the atmosphere for early parts of the night, with everyone looking on enviously at the heaving heartbeat of the show in front of the stage- the punters lucky enough to be in the pit must have had a memorable experience up close and personal with the band. The lighting and backwall gave it a huge lift when they kicked in, helping the unfortunate folks up in the gods feel a bit closer to the action. Cracking encore, Zoo Station and The Fly whipping the crowd up even more before the Vertigo finish at which point I was going home a happy camper. Luckily we were slow getting to the exit (manners make the man...) so were still there when the wonderful Yahwey was played. Good night but I'd be reluctant to watch them from the stand again
