I was on holiday in Ireland with parent and to me astonishment found that U2 were playing. I was a massive U2 fan by this time and had seen them on this tour previously in Glasgow. This was before the days of the intercontobulator so actually knowing who was playing where was often a bit hit and miss.
So after some begging we re-arranged itinerary so I could go. We were driving up from Cork so didn't get in in time to see REM, actually to this day, until reading another fan review, I hadn't actually realised they were playing. Alarm and Squeeze were great and U2 were fantastic. There is a small clip of the concert on the Unforgettable Fire reissue box set DVD which brought it all back to me.
