Hey guys, enjoyed an emotional 2 nights in
Providence, both shows were standout efforts,
Halloween was OUTSTANDING!!
First, got to see some old friends from the 1st leg- the friendliest, most polite guy i've ever met, Phil from Belfast,
Jennifer, the Bombay princess who flew halfway around the world for 5 days,
and the future of America, Winthrop!!
ah yes....to Ray Reale and Christina,
way to keep in touch.....NOT!!!
The crowds had even more spirit and energy
than the 1st 2 legs, clearly a product of the
attacks on our country.
to add to what Winthrop wrote-
the guy who snapped the pictures of bono and
edge during UTEOTW seemed shocked that he was invited on stage. great pics i'm sure....bono
standing behind edge with his arm draped across our wicked guitarist.
i wanted an irish folk song from the birthday boy with bono on the drums but alas, no.
the crowd went crazy when larry was at the mic, OMG...he SPEAKS!!
and ringo starr, don't worry, bono did not play the drums so you still hold last place on the all-time list...;-))) no flames allowed!!
when the 3 girls were brought to the tip of the heart, i could have sworn bono said,
"well we have 3 girls at the back of the stage so i'll put 3 girls at the front too."
damn funny if i heard it correctly.
Slow Dancing was sweet,
Party Girl is just FUN FUN FUN,
and Wild Honey was better than on 6/22.
and the tributes on the video wall to all those that died on the four planes on 9/11
were most poignant. tears both nights.....
Bono dedicated ONE to a single NY firefighter, i didn't hear the name.
in times of peace or trouble,
Bono carries the crowd on his shoulders,
elevating us spiritually and musically,
to get to the promised land...
16 shows this year, it was the most fun i ever had....
Winthrop>>>>not only does he have 3 degrees
of separation from Bono, he is commander-in-chief in my book.
