at the holiday inn after the first night, i told this girl at the bar that party girl would be played. unfortunately for her, she couldnt attend night 2. there isnt much of a shock factor when you go to a U2 concert, especially if its not your first. ive seen them 13 times, and i was shocked for only the second time. first time being baltimore on the 19th when please was played. but this was a sustained shock. party girl/slow dancing and then wild honey. i never really expected party girl, i was just kinda dreaming, but slow dancing and wild honey i figured were dead and buried. in the end, it didnt matter that the rest of the show, was just your typical U2 concert. the tragedies dont make me feel songs like "one" more than i used to. its U2 that makes me feel that way, and its impromptu moments like party girl and slow dancing that blow me away. and make me wonder, why they dont do more of it.
overall, it was an amazing show, and it restored my hope in U2 after the dismal ny shows.
