I didn't know I was going to Vienna until friday afternoon. Booked the train and there I was, 14 hours later, finally, with all this strength and energy, in front of the stage inside the circle. With my best friend by my side on the most expected promising and important day of my life! I couldn't believe it. A dream come true. My first U2 concert and in a stadium!! What an impressive sight it was!!!! I will never forget!!

"Say hello to the boss!"

When U2 came on the crowd went wild!! Sure, with a song like Vertigo to start this amazing giant night how couldn't we go wild?! But in this beautiful way.... in the U2 way!!! =) Singing, jumping up and down and clapping our hands all along with Larry, what a promising night was it going to be!!!

"It's a beautiful day, don't let it go away!"

And we didn't! Even the weather was on our side as it was a bright sunny day (well a clear beautiful night as U2 came up later in the evening)

All I Want Is You touched this place deep down inside me not my heart, deeper, ...a place with no name...

They all were terrific really every single song!! The Edge!! Why didn't you play a little bit on our side? =)

But there was something missing. I thought it would be the only lowlight of the concert. I was waiting for one particular thing: the screen. I had seen it on videos before and I was waiting for it to happen now, here in Vienna on OUR night!!! This beautiful giant screen, this magical song with this magical words, I fell in love with it right away and I couldn't wait any longer when I finally heard the first notes of City Of Blinding Lights! And there it was!! Impressive!! Spectacular!!! Soooo beautiful I was totally blown away by it!! WOW!!!! I'm sorry, I've just realized I've seen U2 looool!!! They were so great!! Adam was just in front of me and he was smiling so often it was so sweet to see!!!

They sure must have been tired from flying all the way here when they were in London just a few hours before but they didn't show it. I think they enjoyed it and gave every bit of energy they had just as we did and I'm sooo thankful to them for it!!

In which song did Bono ask us to turn our mobile phone on? I looked around me and it was like the stars fell on the stadium, on all of us. It was breathtaking. Or when we sang Happy Birthday to Aung San Suu Kyi!! (and I so hope it was a better one this year even though I know it is such an easy thing to say when it is so hard for you...)
You guys know how to move us deep down. That's the way. We can do something this year! We CAN!

When With Or Without You came on it was like ecstasy! Eyes wide open or shut to better feel the music running inside each one of us, numb like, waving our hands with grace, singing along, just enjoying this special moment - it was an experience. I was filming Bono as he was looking at me smiling, right there, I have him on camera!! I sent you a kiss!! "Oh you look so beautiful tonight!!"

When the song ended 55000 fans sang the last Ooo-oooh of With Or Without You until the band came back!!! I have no words to describe this moment!! It was the second encore but it wasn't the end!! Three more songs would follow: All Because Of You (...I am U2!! ;) Yahweh and Vertigo. "The End" Appeared on the screen and so it was. But what a night!! WHAT A NIGHT!!!!!!!! That's the only time when we actually stoped singing and jumping as I recall...

How can I live normally my life now??? This is going to be really really hard...I miss you so much already!! U2 you are sooo good so so good!! I wish you to go on as far as you want and can!! I hope I'll see you again soon and until then I hope the world will change (in the right way) even if it's not much still better than nothing...

PEACE, LOVE & MUSIC.... that's what was on my white wristband!! (a heart, peace written on it and U2 on the other side!!)

Take good care you're the BEST there can be in this world and in all possible way!!! Walk on and we'll walk along!!

xxx Karine
