During the lead up to the concert, the weather forecast was for lots of rain - and while it was constant during the wait for gates to open before the show, there wasn't a drop to dampen the crowd's enthusiasm.
Having seen Kanye support U2 at Adelaide during the Vertigo Tour, I was a bit skeptical as to how well Jay Z would handle the support. The final three songs of his set (Forever Young/Empire State/Encore) really got the crowd pumping.
U2 were then at their glorious best!
While they didn't play as many songs off NLOTH as I'd personally have liked (I think they rock live), it was awesome to hear so many classics that either aren't played regularly or at least haven't been played in Australia for a while.
And based on Return of the Stingray Guitar and Mercy, it will be a great new album released next year!
