Longtime U2 fan, been to over 15 shows starting with 1987 Joshua Tree in Syracuse. My usual experience at U2 shows is that they get this great spiritual vibe that is just amazing. But, after going to the NY1 show and reading about the 360 tour so far, I was lukewarm about going to the FedEx show. (fyi, the NY1 show was a disappointment - there seemed to be something off with the band and they just didn't bring the usual U2 vibe) Anyway, the FedEx show was amazing. It was more like past U2 shows where the band seemed happy to be playing and the crowd was excited to be there. I'm not sure the newer songs really translate to a stadium, they may be better in a smaller arena setting or just not really the typical U2 get-pumped concert songs (City of Blinding Lights, Streets, Elevation, etc.). I know a bunch of people are happy that some of the standards have been off the setlist, but I could hear Pride every night and not be bored. Unforgettable Fire is a wonderful addition – I’m so glad it’s on the setlist this tour. I was really excited for Ultraviolet, but I’m not sure the band is really into it – they seemed to play it without much pizzazz.
