Just to the right of the tip of the heart
Incredible! I can't believe how awesome this tour is. We saw the show May 6 in Pittsburgh and were completely blown away, but the first show in Philly last night was simply sensational. From the opening bars of Elevation to the very end of Walk On, the show sizzles. They have every song down pat, the lights are incredible. And what a spot to see the show ... right up against the railing at the heart. Insane.
Bono wasn't very talkative. He talked a little bit about U2's first show in Philly .... at a place called the Bijou 20 years ago. Desire was a nice surprised, especially when Larry strolled down the heart and banged away at a floor tom. That was very cool.
No major problems with the set. Bono repeated the 1st verse of Stay, but quickly caught his mistake.
The Bad-Streets-Pride portion was outstanding. The arena was SO loud during that clip that Bono had to cover his ears!
Not sure what Bono was saying during the Streets intro, but he did not do the "what can I give back to God" bit. And he kept the line .... "I want to dance, dance, dance" during Streets, which is outstanding.
Not sure how they can top this show tonight. Monday was simply awesome!
