Certainly there were great moments - "Where the Streets Have No Name" was the high point for me - but compared with the several Zooropa shows I attended, last night's performance was a little staid. Maybe nine years has taken its toll to some degree. At times, Bono seemed to lack the soul (voice problems notwithstanding) that made the 1992 shows so overwhelming. Perhaps it is the character of the songs that has changed.
The Edge was fantastic. I can't imagine how the band would have ever succeeded without him.
Overall, I was slightly disappointed with the show, but my expectations were probably unreasonably high.
