Undoubtly, this was one of most brilliant performances by the Worlds Best Rock Band. this is the Second show I was able to enjoy this year. The first was Houston 4.2.2001 at the Compaq. I since have relocated to the Philadelphia area. I followed them with great admiration all summer and now into the fall. I have heard and read great reviews along the way. More good than bad. For you people who critize set lists from other shows, should think about what keeps a band young.
The Show last night was simply the best I have seen. all songs were what you'd expect from these guys, Simply great. None of the songs were better than any other for each had a different message. The only sad and bad thing about it was the show had to end.
Some thoughts...
Bono in own way reaches out and achieves what many can't do, and that is touch the heart, mind and souls with true kindess of love. His uncompromised style is truly of Gods work in his life. How else could their success have kept the band together all these years.
Edge with his electrifying style and sharp skill of notes by rhythm of his chords truly reaches the far corners of sound that pierces the inner urge to want to pick up the guitar again and play. I been playing for 30 plus years and yet have found what I had wanted to accomplish.
Larry What can I say His unmatched ability to play the drums is incredible.
Adam, Consistant and quiet yet his incredible gel that he supports the essence of this great band.
The Songs:
Elevation, Beautiful Day, Until the End of the World, New Year's Day, Out of Control, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Stuck In a Moment, Kite, Wild Honey (acoustic), Please (acoustic), Bad / 40, Where the Streets Have No Name, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Pride
Encore(s): Bullet the Blue Sky, What's Going On, New York, One, Peace on Earth / Walk On
Closing thoughts:
I believe because of their believes in eachother and Bonos sincere believes that U2 will be around for a long time to come.
Just can't get enough of them.
