Great show, my first U2 experience. I can't add any more than others already have except to note that the band tends to get short-changed in the attention department. Bono's the front guy, I know, but I found it almost mesmerizing to watch Adam Clayton just standing there doing his thing.
I MUST comment on the pre-show line-up issue, though. I got there at noon and stood in line all day, as did many, many others, all of us anxious to be closer to one of our favorite bands in the world. Around 6pm, small groups of people from the BACK of the line started being escorted inside ahead of everybody else. In all, I'd guesstimate that 50-75 people were ushered in before us unwashed heathens.
Apparently it was HBO's doing - they intended to film "excited fans" running by or something like that. Unfortunately, this meant that a handful of people who had hoped (and deserved) to get into the heart were denied access. I was very upset for the people in line who weren't able to get in because of this, despite having waiting for hours.
HBO screwed a handful of U2 fans in the name of what was already a stupid idea and, although I'm sure the members of the band had no idea, they will hopefully continue to be aware of the treatment of their fans.
