Last night's show was incredible. I had also gone to Tuesday night's show so the rearrangement of the songs along with the addition of Even Better Than the Real Thing, Out of Control, and Party Girl to the set were nice. I didn't feel the same caliber of energy last night as I did for the first show. However, this was probably because last night I was sitting in a section with a bunch of inebriates who only stood up to dance during Beautiful Day. *sigh* Also, Tuesday was my first U2 concert ever. *woo hoo!*
Anyway, I wanted to post an account of what happened during Walk On. A fan somehow made it onto the side of the heart and charged at the stage during this final song. The stage crew tackled the guy and pulled him away. Bono lunged at the stage crew member who had taken the guy down. He pulled him off the fan. Bono brought the fan with him to the center mic and gave him a big hug before the guy cradled Bono and spun him around. After taking a lap around the heart, the fan disappeared backstage. I felt bad for the stage crew guy who was just trying to do his job but this moment was so emotionally exhilirating that the whole place went nuts; it was amazing.
After the show, my friend Brian and I puttered around outside the hotel hoping to catch a glimpse of the guys. We gave up after 3 a.m.
I really hope that more Boston dates will be included on the next U.S. leg of the tour. I don't think that I can wait another 20 years to see the guys perform again. Now, I'm off to finally buy a copy of Boy on CD so that I can retire my cassette tape. controL?
