Wow - and wow!! I have seen U2 for a third time now ever! The two other shows were both in Mass. - The very first show was third row seats and the second was bleacher seats and this one--- front row standing to where I could yell for Adam within ear shot. I was extremely in shock to be in the heart not knowing the whole ticket situation. I received my tickets from Propaganda (as usual) and waited in the outdoor line for about 3 hours coming off as # 385, thinking I'd never make it with that #, but I was in like butter.Besides hearing PJ Harvey who sounded like Patty Smythe to me -- I thought the Charlton Heston piece was right on the money. Mainly I have never been a more excited 31 year old to be so close to such an outstanding band - they I have listened to since I was 14 - when my first song I came to know and refer to as MY #1 - BAD.When I went to my first concert I said as long as I saw U2 once in my life I'd be happy, now it is my sincere goal to actually meet Bono in person -- as so many have already -- though I doubt my chances are any better than they were that night in Boston - and I drove up from NJ...
lastly kudos to the man who made it to the stage - I was so close myelf to actually doing that myself - who would have thought Bono would have screamed to the security team "get the fuck off him" while shaking a fist at them with one hand and pulling the man up with the other. I was right there to help that man up and maybe I should have followed him....I was even tempted to toss my hat right up to Adam in hopes he'd sign. It was just so damn hard to be so close to them and not actually meet them - hard and wrong?? Becuase I kept my cool - someone else who did not got up on stage. Bono was extremely pissed at how they were treating an Avid fan since 1983 who had just been interviewed for televison only earlier that night(and not by Kurt LOder from MTV who I stood next to several times during interviews outdoors in that line). Anyway Bono - is truly a class act - he even stood up against comments or a poor joke made by a Boston Globe reporter regarding Africans who are dying from AIds!!!!!!!!A true piece of heart and soul act since day one of their days of bringing their songs and messages to our hearts and homes - Can't wait to see them again!!!!!!!!
