Imagine my surprise when I was given an opportunity to see my favorite band play for the second time in ten days. First show last week in NJ was great, I spent hours online trying to get tickets for the Boston show with no luck- so I turned to Jersey. Well, unfortunately a friend couldn't go to the concert and I wound up with the tickets. It was a beautiful day, thunder storms and the sun. A genuine fan, I couldn't let any trash talking, littering, or traffic bring me down. It was fun to reminisce about all times at the Fleet Center, but I wasn't prepared to have the mind blowing experience I was after.
Kings of Leon played a few decent songs. They played some similar chords as U2, not bad for four guys from Nebraska.
I was expecting a set list similar to last weeks show, but was completely blown away when U2 started with Love and Peace. Larry's drum beat took me away and the musical mayhem that continued kept the crowd on their feet most of the show. Besides the two drunk college boys next to us who decided to invite some girls to join our row, we had great seats, actually they got better because we got to switch seats with the college girls.
Notable moments:
Bono brings two children from the audience for COBL.
Beautiful day into Here Comes the Sun, an old favorite played by a favorite band.
Sometimes- the ladies room was calling a line.
Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses, Party Girl, and the way Bono shook the tambourine during All Because of You.
Overall, a phenomenal experience. I guess the best just keep getting better. Thanks U2!
