Hi,
So the second show is over, and in my opinion it was a much looser and more down to earth concert. It seemed as if some of the tensions from the first night had gone and U2 enjoyed this night even more.
Bono was really into the show and what a performance he gave - he even tried to speak danish 3-4 times, but I dont think anybody understood anything apart from the "har I det godt?" - His excuse was that danish is an obscure language...
The only negative to say about tonight is that they played a rather short set with only 18 songs (1h:50m) -
What was special tonight was:
- I will follow (had a very long interlude, where Bono sang something like Ring those bells and some other stuff I couldn´t recognize)
- Sunday Bloody Sunday (A very cool version where Bono allowed a fan to play Edge´s riff with a harmonica...!)
- Stuck in a moment (Bono sang something like: "Goodbye, I´ll meet you in the sky" as an intro to the song)
- Stay (An excellent version where the audience really sang along)
- All I want is you (Bono ended the song with singing "All I want is" 10-15 times and then the song slowly faded into Where the streets...
- Mysterious Ways (Bono extended the ending and sang some stuff I´ve never heard before. Much better version than last night.)
- The Fly (Yes - they played it! During the intro Bono got his daughter Eve on stage and told that it was her birthday and that she was entering the two digit age - 10. Bono was really going for it during this song - at one point he stod still on the b-stage and invited people to throw water on him - and THEY DID. Then some bloke managed to come up onto the b-stage and he tried to put something on Bonos head. Bono got a bit pissed, and the guy apologized and tried to follow Bono onto the main stage, but was quite brutally (but probably nescessary)pulled from the stage by a security guard. This happened right in front of me. Then there was so much water on the stage and bono was skating through it.
- Bullet the blue sky - it had a new intro, which said;
"The five permenent member of United Nations" (They actually spelled permanent as "permenent" on the screen - Whooops!)and then the name of five countries (cant remember which), Next it said "The five biggest weapon arms exporters" (or something like that) and surprise - the same five countries.
- With or without you (a fan got to sing the "Uuuuuuhhhh Uuuuuhhhhhh" part)
- One - Bono mentioning that this was a very special night for them, but for some reason he didnt mention why!
Approx. 10 minutes after the show had ended all 4 members showed up on a balcony up high behind the stage, and greeted the audience which was on their way out.
In my humble opinion, this was great night for the audience, and I´m pretty sure the band had a great night as well.
