Hi You all!
I went to see the show yesterday (31st) and i must say that it was the best u2 concert i ever saw; live, video or whatever.
I Was in Arnhem at 08.45 a.m. and was nr 114 in line, but didn't get in the heart. (it closed just before me unfortunately)
But i got a good spot on the left side of the catwalk and got to see edge and bono from 1 meter distance quite some times, and also got a good look at larry when he came to the tip of the heart to play Desire.
The best part of the show was when bono talked about the violence around the g8 meeting, he was SO ANGRY!! He sang "Get up stand up, stand up for your rights BUT DON'T TAKE A KNIFE".
Another highlight was when Bono asked a little girl if she wanted to come on stage during Bad; She did and he lifted her onto his shoulders en sang Bad (She's not sleeping).
Then Bono asked the girls father to come onstage to get his girl en after he did they got to go into the heart.
Bono walked away and immediately ran back to the girl to get her out of the heart en they skip walked around the heart together.
It was soooo great!
i also enjoyed the part where Bono apologised for being late, adam didn't get to bed until 7 a.m. Larry until 6 a.m. and Bono did't sleep at all because they were working.
He also apologised about going on and on and on about the drop the debts and laughed when he said that adam's ghettoblaster goes on and on and on.
Bono sang an very emotional Kite for his ill father and Stuck in a moment for Herman Brood.
The're were many more highlights but the best part for me was to see Bono up close for the very first time (This guy looks GREAT! but we already knew that...)
Well, i'll put some photo's up when i get them developed, i think i made some great shots.
Bye for now, Francis
