I loved the new songs, but also wished they played 'unknown caller' Expect it tomorrow. I found myself at times mesmerized by the claw. I guess it is crazier than the pomart stage. I was pleasantly surprised with the way they played 'crazy tonight' A cool rendition, especially with Larry going around the stage. I was thriled to hear 'unforgettable fire'and 'ultraviolet.' And 'moment of surrender' was tremendous. Normally i would prefer to hear more new songs like 'comedy' or 'white as snow' as opposed to 'pride' or 'with or without you'-----(i went to 7 vertigo shows and never heard 'crumbs from your table') but tonight everything seemed to fit. I get sick of 'pride', 'new year's day', 'bloody sunday', 'one', 'still haven't found', 'with or without you', but the classics played tonight were just a great experience and it kinda reminded me why i loved these songs and this band for so long. I know that they will always play these songs and don't really vary the setlist, but screw it, these are some of the best rock songs ever and the spectacle of the claw and Bono's showmanship really made for a perfect night.
But with all that Bruce talk, i really thought he would be there...maybe tomorrow.
