How to start? It was an amazing show, my 22nd U2 show and 2nd of 360 tour. I flew from Australia to see both shows in New Jersey / New York and this one overpassed the first night.
Was good to catchup with people lining up, they organized really well GA line, despite some initial arguments at the end I believe was really well done and the security staff was really happy and helping organizing people, I heard comments of lots of people how happy and thankful they were with the line up organizers, even naming other cities to took the example. I am not local so it is an impartial comment.
As a start MUSE was just fantastic, what a band!!! what this 3 mates can do on stage is unbelievably; there is no better band for opening a U2 gig. I got a MUSE guitar pick by the way.
I was GA inner circle front row center, in front of Bono's mic. The stage is quite high so I can barely see Larry. Bono started really powerful and really happy I was able to see how he enjoyed the performance and making jokes to Edge. Adam was fantastic he is a really cool mate.
Bono mentioned something like "...We will tare down this place tonight.." making a joke knowing the stadium will be tare down as they are building a new one right next to it.
Overall performance was powerful and pretty well done, some flaws during some songs though but an overall 10 out of 10, just missed Bad.
The crowd was fantastic and singing the songs was really special, the sound was great. Bono took off his ear piece several times to her the crowd sing and he was moving the head and expressing him self as he couldn't believe what he was hearing, I was able to see his mouth at some stage saying thank you... Stand by me was an awesome to hear.
Streets was superb.
At the end Bono said something like they break attendance record in the venue over passing the Pope and saying ..... we have never played here before (pause)... 27 times before he said and we will never play here again... maybe because they are tearing down the building. He mentioned for us to watch next SNL saying ...Megan Fox will be our drummie!!
" Everyone loves and Irish Girl "... I do!
