I have let the Phoenix concerts take root for the week. These were two excellent shows. I had thought the new disc was good, but now I hear it as much better than that. Additions to the concert that I would like to see would be more play off this new disc.
It is interesting to read the reviews. It seems that most were very happy, and beyond, with the shows. For me, I found myself more energized with the 1st Phoenix concert. I think it comes down to 2 songs. 'Love and Peace' as an entrance is very powerful, especially leading into 'Vertigo' and 'Elevation'. And 'Zoo Station' as an entrance into the encores, had the same effect. 'Love and Peace' is so good.
I, like so many others, was moved by U2's music on these two days. The joy is a wonderful feeling.
I am looking forward to the next west coast swing
