I've been to see a few concerts in my day: Bruce Springsteen, Rolling Stones, REM, Pink Floyd, and quite a few others. These bands are "known" for their live performances and how great they are in concert. I can personally attest that not one of those concerts can compare to last week's U2 show in Cleveland. I've been a fan since January '84 when I was a sophomore in high school. I was dating a high school DJ and he made me a tape of 'War' and 'Under a Blood Red Sky.' It wasn't long before I was hooked. For one reason or another I've only seen them twice, Joshua Tree and now Elevation. If I never see another concert by ANYONE ever again, I'll have lived to see the day with this Cleveland show. OK, sure they could have played some of the more obscure true fan favorites, but let's think about the point of this most recent album: FUN! Bono has said he wanted to make a fun album and I think that a fun tour is the culmination of that project. The show WAS FUN! It was GREAT! I was surprised and laughing and screaming and clapping and dancing and singing and I had a really GREAT time! It was such a thrill to see and hear this great band with great characters and musicians. I had goosebumps the whole night, I sang along to the CD on the way home, and every day since. GO TO SEE THIS TOUR. NOW. IT'S WORTH THE MONEY, TRUST ME!
