I've seen every Scottish U2 show since Barrowland in 1984 and have come to expect very high standards from U2. Sorry but it just wasn't there at Hampden. I was on the pitch where the sound was dreadful and managed, after about six songs, to escape into the seats where the sound was far superior, however it was only "good".
I did not object to the high ticket prices on this tour because I expected to be blown away by a band that have consistently left ever other band behind.
I believe the boys performed well, but I don't think the PA system was up to the job. Maybe the Hampden acoustics are bad, maybe the sound crew had an off night. Whatever the reasons, I feel very disappointed.
