First off, hartford being my second elevation tour show, i noticed that the songs playing on the PA before U2 comes out all have an "elevation" theme, for example Stevie Wonder's "higher ground" etc. i also noticed the projections that are played on the ceiling depend on the roof structure, the mellon arena in pittsburgh is flat and white, therefor U2 showed ocean images during "kite," but not in hartford because you woudn't be able to see it. in hartford last night Bono went on about the club Toad's Place in New Haven where they played in on their first tour of the states in the months following John Lennnon's death, thus going in to "in my life." "Desire" sounded a lot like "Who Do You Love" with larry playing the tip of the heart with a stand up bass drum, and then bono going into "Gloria." "Walk On" contained the chorus of Leonard Cohen's "halleluah" (as it did in Pittsburgh" which was covered by the late Jeff Buckley to whom Bono was a huge fan.
