Fourth time seeing them this tour. Sydney and Toronto (2) the others. This time, the crowd on the floor was great. Everyone into it, in such a positive way. Way better than the previous TO show (Sept 09).
Two years of navigating this space ship, and not much has changed. The set list maybe. Mostly static but over time pieces have changed. The choreographing is still the same. This last leg is like a greatest hits tour; something that I actually really appreciate. This leg's opening of four from Achtung Baby and Zooropa (such a great segway into Zooropa) can get the crowd energized. For me, it's the Fly.
As ATU2 said, not many surprises and for that I was a tad disappointed. I was so hopeful for Out of Control (as played one show previous). We got I Will Follow. Nice, but OoC is the one I have yet to see live. This tour I've seen Unforgettable Fire, and Bad. Was hoping for the "Trev Trio".
So, nothing overly different but still everything I was hoping and dare I say, expected. Fantastic time. Sound is fantastic. The pic posted on U2.com (under Merci Montreal) shows the "stadium"; whole thing is artificial. But what energy and magic you can bring to an empty space. Another great memory in the books.
Question was asked, can they top this stage production? I'd like to see them go back to arena's but given what they can do, I can't wait for the next time!
Post script - Rained like h#(& after. Rain came just as the last notes were being played. Led to many comments on Bono's ability to control not just world debt but the weather too. lol.
