A bad habit of mine is reading early reviews to shows I'm going to later on in a tour. I say its a bad habit, because shows never live up to my expectations, never live up to the hype. With no self-restraint, I have been a faithful visitor to this site.
Elevation lived up to the hype. And then some. Actually, I don't know how people can even write about it. This show effects you on so many different levels. The setlist (no surprise to people with the same habits as mine) translates so well. All the songs you want to hear. And then, they throw in the occasional "In My Life" - whawhawhat!?
People throw around religious when they talk about U2. That is the perfect moniker. It was religious. It was uplifting, reaffirming, reassuring, and protective. I couldn't help but having a "everything will be alright" mindset. Kind of hokey but its true. Tell me, what are you thinking when you hear the piano riff at the beginning of "Bad"?
Get there early, its worth the 8 hr wait for the heart.
Thanks U2 - I needed that. Don't miss this show.
