Hold on, hold on....
Now that the U2 hangover is over I have to reply to the gushing of the reviews that this is the best U2 show or even the best concert ever? I am sorry to burst your bubble, but not by a long shot. Zooropa and Pop Mart were far better shows. Did you reviewers even go to these shows? First of all the HSBC Arena is not what a U2 show was meant for. I dont even think U2 know where they wanted to play. "We are too big for a 6000 seat arena, but we want to pretend that we are now trying to get closer to our fans so we will play 20,000 seat areans and let our fans pretend we are intimate."
I love this band, but I left feeling like the band who always made fun of selling out are confused about the road to take. The joke is over and now we cheer when Bono thanks us for paying $130 at the same time as complaining about 3rd world relief.
I did think the C.Heston bit was priceless and more of what I had expected. Poor sound (did anyone hear what he was saying?) but have to admit the crowd was great.
