I was there in Hyde Park for the concert, and U2 for me were the highlight. The Sgt Peppers track was just totally cool ( I didn't realise until after I got home that Paul Macca has never sung this live before...). Beautiful Day was awesome and changing the lyrics was a touch of genious - again, I didn't realise until afterwards the doves which were released, and I was pretty close to the stage as well. Vertigo was ultra cool with everybody singing along and One was perfect...very moving and the whole audience was singing along. The Unchained Melody breakoff at the end was very moving too as all 150,000 were singing along to that - and when Bono played a wrong chord, everybody laughed, including Bono. Did anybody else notice how much Bono and Edge were enjoying themselves? I had never seen Edge so 'active' on stage as he was during Vertigo.
All in all, a great set for U2 - they were my fave for the day followed by Elton John, Scissor Sisters (suprisingly great crowd reaction for these) and way too many more to mention. U2 on form, as ever :-)
