In agreement with previous posts, this was a good concert by U2 standards...but not a great one.
The show opens very well, although I would've like to have seen more light reflection from the confetti (most of it had spread by the time the lights hit)
Vertigo comes too soon for me, but I seemed to be the only person with that opinion
Nice to hear Electric Co, but An Cat Dubh is a tough one to take (hence a mass exodus to the bar)
Good blending of new and old over the next few songs...Love & Peace or Else really was an amazing song live (it never really hit me from the album)
The rest of the songs were pretty much played the way they have been for the last few concerts (if you seen the live concerts on dvd or tape, you'll know what to expect) but they were performed very well, no changes, just played well
Any criticism would be with the visual show, some effects worked, others were lame (one is nothing other than a man walking in place...very weak) The Bullet video was a real let down...boring and repetitive (this would be my critique...spend more time programming some really wild video images, I don't feel they spent much time in this area) Also, if you must make us watch and listen to the UN rights, please have them synched...
But hats off for the idea of the drop lights curtain, I think it works well...hence my desire for more extravagant imagery
I missed not hearing anything from Pop (a very underrated album)...not even Gone, sigh!
So overall, a good safe concert from the lads. I'm interested to see what changes on Weds.
Please drop An Cat...
