I arrived early, wanting to mellow out with a few drinks before the U2 set. They started with Beautiful Day, which was fantastic. Everything about them that night sounded amazing, Edge's and Larry's guitars, Larry's drums, and Bono's voice. Everything gelled. Then they burst into the most amazing rendidtion of Bad. Bono did manage to screw up the lyrics a little, but what self-respecting U2 fan is not used to that on this particular song? The song just rocked. I loved that I was part of the crowd that brought the band back out onto the stage by singing a great sounding version of "40". It felt like we were all giving a little back to the 4 guys on stage. Maybe, maybe not, but that's the way I looked at it.
Get it on MP3 if you can. I listen all the time.
John
