Though this is a bit late, I thought I'd chime in. KC was my third show of this tour, 13th since 1983. I've come to the conclusion that my favorite U2 show is the last one I saw, so now it is KC 2001. This was a great show. Why? The set list was fun and entertaining, with a great mix of the old and the new. We are very lucky to have seen When I Look At The World, and Bono sounded great here, and throughout the show. A 'rusty' Desire came back, a tidbit of Peace On Earth, and Angel of Harlem full band. The encores One, and Walk On, were great, but expected, yet still brought tears to many of us. I was hoping for Out of Control again, but saw that in Oakland #1 so no big deal. Now let's talk about the sell out issue. Get over it. There is no way this show was going to sell out. For starters, a school night. More importantly, many people in this region who are big fans probably had already ventured to Chicago, Dallas, or Minneapolis on the first leg. Then, after the orignial city list for the 3rd leg also excluded Kansas City, the remainging fans might have traveled to Chicago or wherever they could get a ticket and afford to go. The KC area did a great job supporting the band given all of these variables - I had given up on KC too, but alas, when tix were on sale, I shelled out the cash, again. I'm glad I did, and I'm really glad I could finally drive to a show in 2001 instead of flying! It is much much cheaper, and less nerve wracking post 9-11.
