This was my tenth time seeing U2 and I have to say, their staying power is amazing. it was a great and pleasantly surprising set list. Delving into some of my favorites like "running to stand still" where the crowd sang along "still runnin"- that one never gets old, and "Bad" that really shows off the sound quality. It's refreshing to see/hear them in a more intimate setting, compared to the usual dome or stadium. If they never go back to Tacoma, that will be just fine.
I sat behind the band and noticed that Bono had a teleprompter on the back of his monitor that scrolled the lyrics, so I could tell what the next song was going to be throughout most of the show. I was a little bummed when the house lights came up and the prompter still read "40" I missed the traditional send off song. All in all, a very well rounded show that i'll remember for a long while. I do have to say, that you know you're getting older when aluminated cell phones replace the bic lighter held high and text messaging the band takes over for the roaming beach ball and flying glow sticks.
