All in all, I thought it was a great show. I was telling my friend Patty that I was hoping that they would switch up the setlist a little (my only complaint about the band), and to my surprise, they did.
I thought the band sounded great. I know it has got some bad reviews, but I think COBL was one of the best songs they played all night. I think it is a great song, and is definately a great opener (how can you beat the house lights coming on to Bono singing the opening lines from the center of the arena). I think the band had tremendous energy, which showed in their performance of their songs.
My only complaint about the show was the crowd. While I was not fortunate enough have GA seats,I greatly appreciated my section 206 seats. I was shocked when I saw nearly everyone in the sections around me sitting down for certain songs. Honeslty, I think that is pathetic.
Because I was not able to get tickets the the first round of shows in my hometown, I flew across the country to come to the show. The price of my flight was 5 times the cost of my admission to see this great band play. I have been to many U2 shows in my day, and was embarrased to have people around me sitting down. With U2 tickets in such high demand, I figure that the true fans would have done anything to get their tickets. However, the end result was that people who could not tell you the name of 5 U2 songs took the ticket from a true fan who could sing you every word of every song they played the second night in Seattle.
