It was the first U2 gig I was at. There was a hum through the crowd that U2 were comming on stage, no one really believed it , it just seemed in keeping with hte high spirits at teh Lark by the Lee. As a Dubiner recently moved and workinh in Cork it was something else to see Bono stride up onto the temporary stage, we though it might just be a guest speaking role but then the rest of the boys took their positions. I was lucky enough to already toward the front, but then there was a surge once the band started and the reality sank in that they were actually going to play. I remember Bobos comments about being there to say thanks for the fans early support of the band. We already thought they were huge, little did we know just how big they would grow over teh next twenty and more years. Rock on lads, and thankyou. Paul.
