What is this opening song supposed to be tonight? It sounds like an unfinished instrumental. Unfinished and uninspired. This opener tonight (and all other nights - as evidenced by YouTube footage) is the worst opening song for a U2 show in over 20 years... if not EVER. What is this supposed to be exactly? Hey, look at me, I'm Bono. I have $200,000,000 and the ability to hire the best surgeons on Earth to fix my back. Now I can dance and shake my butt! Yes! Larry, please applaud me! Thanks!
The show is decent. It still is. I saw them in Boston and NJ last year. It's a great show by a great band. But this 360 thing is dragging on a bit too long... and the band seems to have lost their way - and dare I say it, they seem bored. I just don't even know anymore. The show is too big. The stage is too darn big. And now it's being dragged in summer of 2011?! What the heck? I pray that they go back to a simple Elevation-style tour after this... maybe in 2013.
The show tonight was pretty good, but still, just kind of uninspired. Bono said on CBS This Morning on American TV the other day (while hawking Spider Man) that his back problem is a pain in the ass. You betchya. He most likely means it's a pain in the ass because it's making U2 tour this thing for one more year!
Great show. I love In a Little while and UTEOTW.
