WELL WELL WELL! I had gone to Hartford this tour, and the 2nd Philadelphia show. Hartford was excellent, Phili was great, but Bono was illing.. New York was THE GREATEST U2 show I have SEEN IN MY LIFE! Bono's cold was clearly gone, his voice was in TIP TOP shape, beautiful, simply beatiful. The acousics in MSG were the BEST of any of the 5 U2 arena's I've been to, including the brand new First Union Center in Phili, which was pretty poor.
The fans were on the whole great.. Except the guy in my section, 347, who during Bono's little speach about the debt in Africa and Aids, yelled out: 'Then give back the $185 ticket cost, c--k suc-er'. I couldn't help it because it was a knee-jerk reaction, but I turned around and yelled 'F--- Y---'.. He slumped into his chair for the remainder of One.
What else? Well Streets was definitely the biggest croud rouser, with Bad, Pride, Sunday Bloody Sunday, and I Will Follow just behind it. Bono gave great props to NYC, and there's no doubt that this city is their favorite city to play, not Boston. Heck, Adam and Bono are even living here now.
Great great show, can't wait for the 22nd in New Jersey. Thank you U2, and thanks to my brothers and sisters in NYC!
