Yet another amazing night to add to the list of amazing night's of tours past. I had a feeling that this particular show would be special, being that it was their first visit to MSG in a decade. However, even this veteran of U2 concerts was left, well, breathless. It was fitting that a fan handed Bono a crown, as he is every bit the King of Rock & Roll as one of his idol's, Elvis.
In my eyes, Streets was the apex. I was hoping to hear All I Want is You as the predecessor to Streets, but you can never be disappointed in hearing Bad. It was nice to hear songs like Stay and Kite. Portion of the show where Bono continued lyrics after a song had ended, with no music, were unforgettable. Brings back memories of MLK.
It is customary for me to attend each U2 show in Dallas (where I live) and NY/NJ (where I am from) for every tour. The Dallas Elevation show was great, last night's show at The Garden surpassed it. I flew back to Dallas today, but am flying back to NY again Thurday night to see Friday's finale (for Leg 1 anyway) at CA Arena. With it being the 4th NY/NJ show, I bet we get a mixed up set--and hopefully All I Want Is You.
I don't know what more to say.
See you Friday!
Phil K
