I've been a fan of U2 since 1997. I loved POP and got into U2 backwards. For personal and financial reasons I've never been able to see U2 live until last night. The wait was well worth it.
I was in the 341 area of the Garden. High up but not bad seats. I wasn't really able to see some of Bono's acts. I didn't really hear any problems with the sound. I loved the set list maybe because it was my 1st U2 show, I don't know. Pride was even welcome by me :) Every song was sung and played with passion and conviction. Hell "I" sang every song with passion and conviction too LOL ...
For me the best part was the fact that every fan was singing, every line --- word for word --- the fans did anyway, Bono messed up from time to time, but that's cool it's not like he sings the same songs every night or anything :)
The only bad parts of the show was Running To Stand Still. It seemed that the band didn't know where to start the song. Even when they did get the song going it was hard for me to get into but that had more or less because this dude in front of me took out his cell phone and started to call people. Myself and a few people started to get on him until he put it away. This guy and his friend clearly only know about the U2 from HTDAAB, AYCLB and AB. All the old stuff was lost on this guys. One of them turned around when everyone was singing An Cat Dubh with this puzzled look on this face.
I have so many highlights it's not even funny. I put my leg on the back of the chair for a moment and I could feel the vibration of Adam's bass (way cool), the best one has to be Sunday Bloody Sunday. It was just wonderful. And closing with Vertigo may have disappointed some people. I could tell the woman behind me was mad, but not me, I left singing another song :) Great show!!!!
