Started my weekend in NYC by running into Ali Hewson at ToysRUs but that story is for a different forum. On with the show...
I was very excited for my 9th U2 show (overall)but 1st NYC show. Lots of expectations...most of them met. A lot of talk about maybe Angel of Harlem, New York, Walk On...but we got Jean Genie. Which I thought rocked...it didn't occur to me until the next day that Bowie was probably at the show. I did see P. Diddy or Sean Combs or whatever he goes by...in a section on Edge's side (maybe 60 or 61). I was on the outside rail in Philly and the proximity of GA surely makes for a special show but there is little room to move plus there isn't a way to even have a couple drinks because you have to keep your spot. With a seat...I could have a drink and had room to dance and move (or whatever it is I do...it is surely not dancing). Our section
was a bit lame early in the show (I think the only people sitting were in this section). But by SBS they finally got into the show. COBL, Jean Genie, RTSS, Vertigo II were some of my favorites. MSG seemed louder than Philly 1 but in Philly everything just seemed muffled and I
couldn't really tell how loud the fans were. Now I'm going to Boston 3 next Saturday. Can't wait.
