I attended for the first to a U2 at Madison Square Garden. It's really awesome, I just felt the atmosphere so special, as Bono said: "it's just ONE of those moments". Consider the show was on Monday and it looked like a Saturday night.
The most touching moment, at least for me, was during "Miss Sarajevo", because of the outstanding performance of Bono for the Pavarotti lyrics. I just couldn't believe it! I've been a huge fan of U2 since I was a teenager, and I notice that Bono's vocals have been declining through the years, I mean, these are not the Joshua neither the Achtung times but, the highest tones for the Pavarotti performance Bono reached out were just amazing. Bono is God. Have you read it before?
Patti Smith's opening act was a great addition to the MSG night. The begining of her show was "folky" and it was developing to a tough, crude, punk, tasteful performance. She was inspirational for the earliest U2, as well as The Ramones, Lou Reed, Sex Pistols.
