A different feel to this show for me. Bono came out like a race horse. He was so into it. Edge as well...jumping around, clearly ready for a MSG show.
The floor was jumping right from the start, but I noticed the upper level audience were kind of reserved, making the band work extra hard. "Streets" worked it's magic, and the rest of the night, U2 owned NYC!
All I Want Is You was terrific! Just so good. Another highlight for me was WGRYWH. Bono said it was one of his favorite U2 songs, and it's one of mine as well. Bono and Edge (acoustic) played it at the tip of the Eclipse , and then Larry and Adam joined in. Really great.
Bono's voice was strong, and Larry and Adam were solid.
It was an interesting show to say the least, and oh, I almost forgot, Mary J. Blige was incredible, doing a fine job singing "One" with Bono. Just the right blend.
Bono was so comfortable in his own skin tonight, the show was all the better for it. It was something hearing Bono yell and curse because a fan was on the phone while he was singing. He did apoligise later to the fan.
Good set, good show!
