I am a great, great fan of these guys.
This was my second time watching U2, the first one being POPMART in Madrid.
What a change.
Because *Pop* Madrid was by far superior to this sometimes piece of crap. How can they pull this deceiving performance at MSG?
The playlist was absolutely ridiculous, to begin with. Playing "elevation", "stuck in a moment" instead of...say..."stay faraway so close" or "until the end of the world"...is almost an insult to the fans...
they absolutely butchered "i still haven´t found" and "with or without you". bono´s voice was absolutely awful. "one" was not very good either.
Ok. Some good moments now: "sunday bloody sunday" was actually a pleasant surprise. so was "crumbs": great tight performance. "the first time" was amazing but got no response at all from the public. "bullet the blue sky" and "all because of you" - amazing guitars by edge.
the sound didnt blow my mind either.
somehow this american watered down version of u2 in arenas doesn´t work for me. these guys need stadiums.
and bono needs quitting smoking NOW!!
his speeches during the show were boring as hell too...
it just didnt feel like a good night for the guys. too bad because i´m not spending another 150 $. at least not until i can see them playing a stadium in europe.
