Ah, the feeling of re-elevation...
The band lands again in the Big Apple with a fuck the past and kiss the future attitude, as emphasized by Bono when he threw in a couple of extra "begin again.."'s during New Year's Day, embracing (sometimes literally) all the NY'ers in the house. The band was in fine form (except at the end of SBS
During OOC, the band was introduced quickly, and Bono talked about when they first landed in NYC 20 years ago and how megalomania begins at an early age.
Three people got on stage tonight...in a sort of gender role reversal too.
I missed not having Please, but also this probably wasn't the best day to do that with the IRA pact, even though the song can be related to other things...again fuck the past, kiss the future. Also missed the short When Will I See You Again bit before Stuck, I was looking forward to hearing it in person for the first time, ironic since I seem to be one of the few who recognizes, remembers and likes the original...
Not much different than Baltimore, but then again I wasn't there, so... It was fine show, not quite as transcendent as June's MSG #2 was in my view, but it was a *normal* *good* show...just what we needed. :-)
