U2 Tours (formerly part of AtU2): A Comprehensive Guide To U2’s Live Performance History

Just got back from a wonderful performance last night. However, as many have posted, the set list left much to be desired. Compared to the june shows at the garden, this set list is much more subtle. Overall, Bono's voice was incredible, can't say enough about Larry and Adam. Rock solid!!! Larry was just in peek form the whole night. Being a U2 fan dating back to the days of Boy & October I do feel the need to comment on the following. I dont want this to be misconstrued because I will always love U2 and they will always be my favorite band. That being said, how can they justify the ticket prices they are charging and play 18 songs and not even approach 2 hours on stage. They talk a great deal about the love they feel for their fans and I feel it is indeed from the "heart" but when those fans have to pay upwards to $ 135 for just a decent seat and you perform 17-18 songs and are off the stage in under an hour and 45 minutes, well, this U2 fan must shake his head. I have come to understand that they will never play, I Threw a Brick, A Day Without Me, or even some of their great material off of Unforgettable (Promenade, Elvis Presley, MLK, etc.) and Joshua (Red Hill, In God's Country, Trip Through Your Wires, etc.) but as James E. stated "change it up a bit". And playing one line from "40" to this fan doesnt constitute even being mentioned on the set list. Again, I dont want this to be misunderstood cause I grew up on U2 and wholeheartedly feel they are right up there with the Beatles and the Stones but just wish they would follow in the footsteps of a Bruce or Pearl Jam when it comes to live shows and the variation in set lists and length of the show that these great live acts follow.
