My son (25) invited my husband and I to go to this U2 concert. He came in from Washington, DC. Both my husband and I love U2, but had never seen them live. (It was my son's 7th concert). He decided to get seats instead of GA because we didn't think we would be able to stand for so long.
I really did not know what to expect. My son kept telling us that we were going to LOVE this concert. He kept us up on all the things U2 usually did at concerts, so we were pretty prepared -- YEAH RIGHT!!!
This was the most phenomenal concert I have ever been to. The entire audience was on their feet (including us) for the ENTIRE concert. You could not sit down. Every song was so hand-clapping, heart-pounding, exciting that you could not sit still for a minute.
My favorite part was where Bono accepted the flag from a fan and gently wrapped his arms around it while bending slightly over it. I cried for that entire song. It was so heartbreaking. When the names appeared on the screen for the WTC victims, I really lost it. What a tribute to all those whose lives were lost.
At the end of the concert, the FDNY came up on stage and the applause was thunderous. We all owe our deepest gratitude to those men.
Thank you, U2 for the most heartfelt and wonderful concert I will probably ever attend!!! No wonder my son is a HUGE FAN!!!
