Sept. 8th, 1980, Returning from two years with Peace Corps in Africa, stopped into London's famous Marquee Club, Billboard had strange band name, (short, "clever", never registered with me) weekday night, early evening, a pound or so to get in, room a third full, twenty people listening up close, dancing, four band members, the drummer had short blond hair, they played hard, I left, flew home to states a day or two later, then years later, when they became big, always wondered, did I see U2 back before......?(Google tells me I did!)
