Well we wont state the obvious, everyone knows how amazing the show was and how wonderful the variation in the set list was.
What we will say is that we were fortunate enough to have the outside of the tip and our view point was spectacular. Most people dont get to see the show from our point of view, so this is a little bit of what happened:
Until the End of the World: Bono first comes to the tip, stands on the little platform right in front of us. To be honest, you wont like the tip if you dont like Bonos crotch in your face. lol not to be vulgar, but several times I (kaitland) had to move back because as Bono leaned out into the crowd I got a face full of... *ahem*. lol anyway...
Bono is a very theatrical performer... and does things that many of us dont quite get. However, its still fun to watch, as confusing as he may be. For example, during UTEOTW Bono grabbed my (Kaitland) hand and crouched down in front of me where he proceeded to bite my wrist. I think hes done this before, but I dont really know what it means. Its entertaining as all hell though.
Bono was kind enough to the people around us to touch their hands a lot, though it was obvious he avoided the over zealous scary folks, as he should have. Some people got a bit too excited and we were crushed a few times against the barrier, even though some very kind guys behind us took most of the crush factor. We're not very strong, but we were OK through out most of the show. The tip wasnt dangerous at all for us.
When Bono was almost about to collapse on us as he shook around on the platform during The Fly I was a bit concerned he would fall on me, but the security guards kept him upright most of the time.
Bullet the Blue Sky: A man in only boxers breaks out of the audience right in front of us and the security guards tackle him. However, Bono is right there and of course tells them to let go of him and tells the guy to come on stage. The guy is very excited, and crouches right in front of Bono. Bono attempts to get the guy to sing the lyrics but he is too nervous or excited it seems and simply says "I have a present for you" over and over. Then he says "I just want to have a good time" to which Bono responds "I just want to have a good time too." Then the man gives Bono a gold ring and will not leave until Bono puts it on. Bono did not bring him on stage and was only trying to calm an over excited fan.
Though the rest of the show was amazing those were the little bits you might have missed if you were in the heart or had seats. Im certain every seat in the arena was amazing though.
PS: PJ Harvey was amazingly kind to a huge fan of hers once the crowd pointed him out to her. Her performance got progressively better as the crowd fed her with good energy - she completely won us over.
