I left the hills of Pittsburgh at 4:30 afternoon to arrive in the sticky and muddy Washington DC at around 8:15 that evening. Found my parking space, and my timing was perfect when I entered the arena: Higher Ground was being played over the PA and I knew it five minutes, my eighth elevation show would be arriving.
The DC crowd was fabulous. Especially during Until the End of the World and the first encore, I have never heard anything quite so loud.
THey played a flawless version of 11'oclock tick tock, perfect. The acoustics in the MCI center were great. I was sitting behind the stage, and I could not take my eyes off of Larry because I could not see down the heart. But Larry, wow, he was awesome. The highlight for me was to watch him pound on his drum during Streets. For any of you that care, I have ranked all eight shows I have seen:
1. Buffalo
2. Pittsburgh
3. Washington DC
4. Chicago (first night)
5. Toronto (second night)
6. Columbus
7. Cleveland
8. Miami (first night)
Don't get me wrong, all these shows were great, but these were the shows I liked the best in the order you see above.
Much Love and Sex
